We have long understood that our future as a top law firm depends on developing world-class lawyers with a wide range of perspectives, experiences and social identities. We therefore regard it as imperative that we create and maintain an environment where all members of our community can flourish.
To ensure this, our lawyers receive mandatory diversity training every year. We are a signatory to the New York City Bar’s “Statement of Diversity Principles,” which expresses our commitment to facilitating diversity in the hiring, retention and promotion of lawyers, and to the ABA Pledge for Change: Disability Diversity in the Legal Profession and to Diversity Lab’s Disability Inclusion Commitments. We also support a wide range of organizations aimed at increasing diversity in the legal profession, including the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Asian American Bar Association of New York, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), Corporate Council Women of Color, Lambda Legal, the Equal Justice Works Fellowship program, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, LatinoJustice PRLDEF, the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, the National Association of Women Lawyers, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, The Appellate Project, the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund and many more.
Since July 2021, we have participated in Diversity Lab’s Mansfield process, a national initiative aimed at closing representation gaps in the legal profession. We received certification as part of the 2023-24 cohort, have signed on to the 2024-25 process and remain committed to the program’s mission of ensuring "equal opportunity for all lawyers to advance into leadership."
Our diversity program has been recognized by many of the organizations that monitor such efforts, including Vault and the Chambers Associate satisfaction survey. The firm earned a perfect score and was recognized as a "2022 Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality" in the Human Rights Campaign’s annual Corporate Equality Index. Most recently, in 2024 the firm received the Legal Benchmarking Group’s Social Impact Awards for "Disability Program of the Year" and "Social Impact Case of the Year."
