FDA, FTC Issue Warning Letter to Copper Touch Over False COVID-19 Treatment Claims
The FDA and FTC issued a joint warning letter to Copper Touch, LLC for misrepresenting the effectiveness of their cleaning products in eliminating the COVID-19 virus. According to the agencies, the company claimed that its Sani-Bar GK95 and Sani-Disc GK95D products were safe and effective for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. The letter required Copper Touch to immediately cease making the false claims. In addition, the company was required to respond to the letter within 48 hours describing the specific actions taken to address the FTC’s and FDA’s concerns.
