Title: India Added to Travel Ban

The White House announced that India would be the latest country added to the travel ban list on Tuesday, May 4 (joining the U.K., Ireland, the Schengen Territories, Brazil, China, South Africa and Iran). The Presidential Proclamation prevents the entry to the United States by foreign nationals who have been physically present in India in the 14 days prior to seeking entry. Please see the Proclamation for further details on the ban and a list of exemptions. We note that the State Department has previously interpreted this travel ban to also be a ban on visa issuance in the affected country.
