Since late last year, Kramer Levin has assisted Kroll-O'Gara in five separate acquisition deals. It is Kroll's ultimate goal to become one of the top global providers of risk mitigation services and products.
December 7, 1998, marked Kroll's announcement of its $36 million dollar acquisition of Laboratory Specialists of America, an independent drug testing company. Then, on the cusp of the New Year, Kramer Levin assisted in cementing two deals—a $6 million dollar acquisition of Schiff and Associates, an engineering firm that provides advice pertaining to the security business and the $64 million acquisition of Securify Inc., an e-commerce security provider. The latter transaction was the largest acquisition in Kroll's history.
In mid-January 1999, Kramer Levin assisted Kroll-O'Gara in their agreement to acquire Background America, Inc., an information technology enterprise specializing in Internet-based employment screening and compliance services.
