Kenneth H. Eckstein, Co-chair of Kramer Levin’s Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department, will be recognized as the “Legal Advisor of the Year” at the 9th annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards, M&A Advisor announced. The award recognizes Mr. Eckstein’s leading role this past year in many of the largest reorganization cases, including leading the Kramer Levin team representing Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd. in its Chapter 11 proceedings.
Kramer Levin will also be a recipient of the award for “Industrial Manufacturing/Distribution Deal of the Year” for the firm’s representation of Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd. in its Chapter 11 proceedings. The Kramer Levin team on the $1.4 billion Genco restructuring was led by Mr. Eckstein and included, among others, Adam C. Rogoff and P. Bradley O’Neill; litigation partners Philip S. Kaufman, Jeffrey Trachtman and Alan Friedman; and corporate partners Thomas E. Molner, David J. Fisher and Abbe L. Dienstag.
Nominations, representing over 250 participating companies, were judged by an independent jury of industry experts. The awards will be presented at the M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards Gala on Monday, February 23 in Palm Beach, Fla.
