Litigation partner Jeffrey S. Trachtman has been named one of The National Law Journal’s 2019 Equality Trailblazers. Jeff was recognized for his career-long involvement in LGBTQ equality cases at Kramer Levin and profiled in a special supplement to the Sept. 1 issue of The National Law Journal. The profile highlighted his amicus brief in Boy Scouts v. Dale and later service as co-counsel with Lambda Legal in Hernandez v. Robles, New York’s marriage equality challenge, which set the stage for the passage of marriage equality in New York State. The profile mentioned other landmark equality cases in which Jeff led the firm’s filing of Supreme Court amicus briefs — including Windsor, Obergefell and Masterpiece Cakeshop — and what he sees as a mixed picture for the future. Jeff noted his concern about the current trajectory of civil rights and the necessity to continue working toward equality for all.
