At the 8th Annual M&A Advisor Awards Gala on December 14, 2009 at the New York Athletic Club, three Kramer Levin deals were named as the winner in four award categories.
The acquisition by Kramer Levin client Deloitte of substantially all of the assets of BearingPoint's North American Public Services practice out of bankruptcy transaction was the recipient of both the Middle Market Deal of the Year and Professional Services Industry Sector Deal of the Year awards. Deloitte LLP closed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of BearingPoint's North American Public Services practice out of bankruptcy for total consideration of $350 million in cash, subject to adjustment, and the assumption of certain BearingPoint liabilities on May 8, 2009 . The acquisition of firm client Aladdin Knowledge Systems by Affiliates of Vector Capital transaction was the recipient of the Cross Border Deal of the Year award. Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. completed its merger, valued at $160 million, with an investor group led by Vector Capital on March 24, 2009. The Kramer Levin deal team consisted of Richard H. Finally, the acquisition of Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, Inc. by client RiskMetrics Group, Inc. transaction received the Financial Services Deal of the Year award. RiskMetrics Group, Inc. acquired Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, Inc. on March 2 , 2009. The Kramer Levin deal team consisted of Howard T. Spilko, Adam S. Karasik, Barry Herzog, Avram J. Cahn and Blake A. Rigel.
