Jennifer Rochon is the first-ever General Counsel for the Girl Scouts of the USA. Jen began her career at Kramer Levin as a summer associate in 1997, and worked in the Litigation practice from 2000 through 2013. Jen was a Litigation partner and also served as chair of the firm's Women's Initiative Committee. Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Jen clerked for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

How did working at Kramer Levin help advance your career?

Kramer Levin is an extraordinary law firm where I was taught to critically and strategically solve problems, vigorously advocate for clients, and respect the ethics of the legal profession.  Being a litigation partner at Kramer Levin opened up opportunities beyond litigating.  The critical thinking, leadership, management, and analytical skills that I learned at Kramer Levin enable me to be successful in my in house General Counsel role. 

What types of projects are you working on now?

As General Counsel, my portfolio is broad – from litigation oversight, to employment matters, to cybersecurity readiness oversight, to corporate governance and board support, to intellectual property management and licensing.  My legal work supports Girl Scouts’ new and exciting initiatives centered around technology, STEM and creating a powerful force of G.I.R.L.s – go-getters, risk takers, innovators and leaders.

What made you want to be involved with the Kramer Levin Alumni program? 

I was excited to be involved in the Kramer Levin Alumni program because I have incredible respect for the lawyers at Kramer Levin and feel privileged to have worked with them.  Kramer Levin is a large sophisticated law firm that has never outgrown its small firm collegiality and client service.  Its lawyers – both at the firm and its alum – are talented, interesting professionals. When that network of Kramer Levin lawyers connects, its reach and impact is extraordinary.
