• Sumaya Ullah Restagno advises clients on employee benefits and executive compensation issues that arise in the context of corporate transactions, including negotiation of transaction documents, analysis of retirement and welfare plans, assessment of various executive compensation issues such as deferred compensation and golden parachute arrangements, and coordination of post-closing benefits items. In addition, Sumaya assists clients with the design, implementation and ongoing administration of qualified retirement plans, welfare plans, employment and severance agreements, deferred compensation arrangements, equity arrangements, and incentive plans, including issues of regulatory compliance under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA and other laws.

    Prior to becoming a lawyer, Sumaya served in a number of employee benefits positions, including most recently as human resources vice president and global head of employee benefits for a leading provider of corporate governance and responsible investment solutions for the financial services sector.
