• Mitchell Z. Markowitz works on complex real estate finance transactions, representing commercial real estate lenders in acquisitions, construction financings and refinancings. Mitchell also represents real estate clients in connection with acquisitions, dispositions and leasing transactions. Mitchell’s work involves preparing and negotiating loan, transactional and ancillary documents, coordinating due diligence, facilitating closings and handling post-closing issues. 

    Mitchell brings extensive experience in New York City and national real estate to his work on behalf of clients. Prior to joining Kramer Levin, he worked on real estate transactions and financings as an associate with a number of New York City-based regional and national law firms.

    Experience

    • Represented the lender in an approximately $98 million construction financing for student housing at an Upstate New York university.*

    • Represented the lender in an approximately $37 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of senior living facilities in the Southern United States.*

    • Represented a New York family trust in connection with the disposition of an approximately $30 million retail property located on Madison Avenue and in the reinvestment of sale proceeds in net leased properties throughout the country.*

    • Represented the lender in an approximately $28 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of mobile home park in the Southeast United States.*

    • Represented the lender in an approximately $25 million mortgage loan secured by a senior living facility in Florida.*

    • Represented a New York private school in an approximately $11.5 million tax-exempt bond issued through Build NYC Resource Corporation.*
