• Jeffrey C. Thalhofer works on complex trials and appeals, including civil and criminal white collar defense cases, antitrust suits, bankruptcy adversary proceedings and appeals, and complex commercial litigation. Jeff’s work involves all phases of these cases and includes drafting motions, briefs and other filings; managing discovery review and production; preparing for witness depositions and testimony; and serving as a member of trial and appellate teams.

    Jeff previously worked as a law clerk in the New York office of an international law firm. He left private practice to clerk with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, after which he joined the firm in 2019.

    Experience

    • Briefed, as part of the appellate team, both the successful petition for certiorari and the appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the Eleventh Circuit’s outlier rule that a doctor may not assert a good faith defense to a charge that he unlawfully prescribed controlled substances.

    • Represented, as part of the appellate team, a multinational video game and digital entertainment company, successfully defending the dismissal of a $340 million unjust enrichment suit related to the sale of video game consoles in an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
