• Catherine F. Engelmann works on litigation matters.

    Catherine’s practice includes assisting in defending clients in investigations before the Department of Justice, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and Securities Exchange Commission. Catherine has also been a member of teams representing clients involved in various stages of litigation in federal district court and a U.S. Court of Appeals. Catherine maintains an active pro bono practice, including co-authoring an amicus brief filed in the U.S. Supreme Court in Garland v. Cargill, which involved the question of whether the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives exceeded its statutory authority by issuing a rule that classifies a bump stock as a “machine gun.”  

    While in law school, Catherine interned for Judge Loretta Preska in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, and Judge Eric N. Vitaliano in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, as well as with the New York State Division of Human Rights. Prior to joining the firm, Catherine clerked for Judge Paul J. Kelly Jr. in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
