• Caroline W. Ellis works on Bankruptcy and Restructuring matters, assisting in the representation of significant parties in interest, including bondholders, distressed investors, and secured and unsecured creditors, as well as debtors, in complex in Chapter 11 proceedings, out of court restructurings and other distressed situations.

    Caroline joins Kramer Levin after clerking for the Hon. Philip Bentley of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. She previously spent four years as an associate with a global law firm headquartered in Houston, Texas, where she worked on a number of major restructuring cases for both debtors and creditors primarily in the real estate and oil and gas industries.

    • Echo Energy Partners I, LLC- representation of Echo in its chapter 11 bankruptcy case in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, resulting in the sale of substantially all of the Debtor’s SCOOP/Stack assets for approximately $32.9 million.*

    • Gulfport Energy Corp., et al. – representation of executory contract counter-party with potential exposure of approximately $800 million in connection with a contract rejection claim in Gulfport’s chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.*

    • Distressed Debt Investors – representation of group of distressed debt investors as lenders to entities owned by World Class Realty in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases filed by World Class entities in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas, foreclosure litigation and appeals, defaulted debt proceedings, suits on guarantee, and collection litigation and appeals.*
